After three years of long nights, lots of research and many meetings we have gotten word that all our work has been noticed and appreciated. The final word has yet to come down, but as of last week our lives have switched to "if", "maybe" to "OMG" this is really going to happen!
This journal came about as a concept of three very industrious doctors in a field that has been left behind in proper peer-reviewed literature. The conception of the idea, I am sure is older than three years, but they worked and worked on making the dream of a reliable peer reviewed journal come to reality.
I came aboard three years ago by offering my librarian research experience and looked into many of the ideas that they had and researched the questions that they needed answering. A year ago my husband, and business partner, came aboard to look at the desktop publishing and printing of the proposed journal.
Now the fun begins in trying to organize this journal and make it the best it can be. Let the adventure begin. This will either make us strong and ready to tackle another project like this, or it could kill us and then we'll just be another "patient" for our doctors.
